Per Unit or Per Area — That Is the Question

Per Unit or Per Area — That Is the Question

· October 1, 2026

Neuromodulators have been used in medicine for decades and are among the most extensively studied medications in the world. In the late 1980s, they began being used cosmetically, traditionally with pricing based on the number of units used.

Today, a more modern approach is per-area pricing. This means your provider uses the appropriate number of units needed to achieve your desired results, rather than being limited to a predetermined number of units.

At PURE Medical Aesthetics, per-area pricing allows us to use Botox®, Dysport®, Xeomin®, Daxxify®, and Jeuveau® based on clinical knowledge and treatment recommendations, with the flexibility to treat to correction.

With per-area pricing, touch-ups are included for up to 2 weeks after your initial treatment if additional correction is needed. With per-unit pricing, touch-ups are included within 2 weeks for asymmetry only. Any additional units needed beyond correcting asymmetry are billed at the regular per-unit rate.
